Business Informatics
The MBI programme results in the degree Master of Science in Information
Science at Utrecht University. The program accommodates both
research-oriented students as industry oriented students with the
following profiles:
- research: with a desire to obtain a PhD position in a university or a
research position in a company;
- business consulting: advising organizations (private and public) on
innovative IS/IT (web) solutions, information management strategies and
business/IT alignment, in positions as consultant, project/program manager,
or enterprise architect with the intention of improving an organization's
performance;
- technical consultancy: aiming at implementing innovative IT solutions
in organizations, in positions as product manager, IT architect,
web-designer;
- enterpreneurship: for those wanting to start their own company in
product software or IT services.
The program has a duration of two years and comprises 120 European Credit
Transfer System (ECTS) points. Students can enter the Master's program
twice a year, i.e. in February and September.
We run the MBI program since September 2003, and more than 100 students
from all over the world have enrolled. The graduates get usually several
job offers from the top companies in their area of interest.
